As we mentioned a few days ago, the Ludoteca TEPUI has gone out and continues on the streets. That is to say, in addition to keeping its doors open in the Los Olivos neighbourhood in Puerto Ordaz-Venezuela, it has now also moved its activities to other spaces, this time in a humble sector of the same region, and where it is materialising a shared task with the neighbours of a community. TEPUI has already held 5 play days in the sector known as Toro Muerto, and more than 70 children have attended - first with amazement and then with great joy and enthusiasm!
We are very happy about this. And also very pleased with the necessary cooperation of representatives of the community itself as well as spokespersons of the local Catholic Church, who have facilitated the liaison and communication with the former.
The fact is that there is a lot of joint work and responsibility for different tasks behind each day of recreation. We all work together to ensure that this open playroom, in spaces provided by the community itself, at an agreed time and in a lovingly decorated place, fulfils its purpose: to offer healthy and fun recreation to the children, while sharing and transmitting teachings and values in a protected and adequately conditioned space.
The children's representatives, on the one hand, have taken care of preparing refreshments to give to the children at the end of each activity; but they have also lent chairs and tables to adapt the roofed patio of a neighbour's house, which she is happy to provide for these activities.
For its part, TEPUI prepares the Travelling Box with games, stories and different books each time, and is attentive to the needs and interests of the children, and to energising the days. Other people have ensured the transfer of people and materials to and from the playground, which has been converted for hours into a toy library in the Toro Muerto sector. In this way, the toy library is becoming everyone's responsibility, everyone's concern, everyone's object of care.
Finally, this recent and ongoing experience in Toro Muerto encourages us to explore new collectivities, to expand the benefits of a toy library that is travelling, open, marvellous and fun!
Haciendo otro sueño realidad... una ludoteca viajera que va a la comunidad
Tal y como ya comentáramos días atrás, la Ludoteca TEPUI salió y continúa en la calle. Es decir, además de mantener abiertas sus puertas en la urbanización Los Olivos de Puerto Ordaz-Venezuela, ahora también ha trasladado su accionar hacia otros espacios, esta vez en un sector humilde de esa misma región, y donde se está materializando un quehacer compartido con habitantes de una comunidad. Ya son 5 las jornadas lúdicas que TEPUI ha desarrollado en el sector conocido como Toro Muerto, y al que han acudido -primero con asombro y luego con gran alegría y entusiasmo- más de 70 niños!
Estamos muy contentos con esto, por supuesto. Y también muy complacidos con la cogestión necesaria que han asumido representantes de la propia comunidad así como voceros de la iglesia católica local, que han facilitado el enlace y la comunicación con los primeros.
Y es que detrás de cada jornada lúdica hay un trabajo conjunto y responsables de tareas diversas. Cuidamos entre todos que esa ludoteca abierta, en espacios brindados por la propia comunidad, en un horario acordado y en un sitio siempre amorosamente decorado cumpla cabalmente con su propósito: ofrecer sano y divertido esparcimiento a los niños, al tiempo de compartir y transmitir enseñanzas y valores en un espacio protegido y adecuadamente acondicionado.
Los representantes de los niños por una parte, se han ocupado de preparar refrigerios para brindárselos a los niños a final de cada actividad; pero también han prestado sillas ymesas para adecuar el patio techado de la casa de una vecina que la brinda gustosamente para estas jornadas. Por su parte, TEPUI prepara cajas viajeras con juegos, cuentos y libros distintos cada vez, y está atento a las necesidades e intereses de los niños, y de la dinamización de las jornadas. Otras personas han asegurado el traslado de personas y materiales hacia y desde ese patio convertido por horas en ludoteca del sector Toro Muerto. Así, la ludoteca va siendo responsabilidad de todos, querencia de todos, objeto de cuidado por todos.
En fin, esta experiencia reciente y en actual desarrollo en Toro Muerto nos impulsa a explorar nuevas colectividades, para ampliar las bondades de una ludoteca ¡viajera, abierta, maravillosa y divertida!
